ERDocExplains referenceER or urgent care — which one do I need?
Short answer
If it could kill you in the next hour, go to the ER. If it's scary but stable, urgent care is faster and cheaper.
Chest pain, sweating, or pain shooting down your arm — call emergency services. A cut that needs stitches or similar non-life-threatening issues — urgent care is the better call.
